    What happens if I don’t pay for the domain extension in time?

    Central registrars have penalties for late payments set out in the rules. The penalties vary according to the TLD.

    We will determine the critical date based on an example. If your invoice states:

    the registration of domain.tld from 27 October 2018, then such a critical date is 27 October 20168and we will use this date with all TLDs.

    “‘.EU”‘ (EURid vzw, Park Station Woluwelaan 150, Diegem, 1831 Belgium)

    The day after the critical date, i.e. 28 October 2010, the domain will be shut down and can only be renewed for an extra charge that is listed as Activation within 40 days after expiry. While for most domains there is a certain time period after shut-down during which the domain can be extended for a standard price, for this domain the increased price will be charged right away. The domain can be extended by up to 40 days from the critical date and then released to other applicant for registration. If you renew the domain after a critical date, and also change the registrar, the fee is listed in the price list as Activation within 40 days after expiration of validity with the change of the registrar.

    “‘.COM .NET“‘ (VeriSign, Inc. Mountain View, California, USA)
    “‘.ORG“‘ (Public Interest Registry 1775 Wiehle Avenue, Suite 102A Reston, VA 20190, USA)
    “‘.INFO“‘ (Afilias Limited, Office 110, 52 Broomhill Road, Tallaght, Dublin 24, Ireland)
    The domain is deactivated on the day after the critical date and ceases working. 14 days after the critical date, the domain can be recovered for a standard fee and the domain will resume functioning. 15 – 60 days after the critical date, the domain will enter the so-called Redemption Period and the fee for its recovery is specified in the price list. 61 – 79 days after the critical date, the domain can no longer be recovered. After about 80 days, the domain will be offered for free registration.

    == .DE ==
    “‘.DE“‘ (DENIC eG Wiesenhuettenplatz 26, Frankfurt am Main D-60329, Germany)

    The .DE domain must be extended at least 30 days before the critical date. In our case it means 28 October 2016. If the domain is not recovered, it will work for the last month, but the owner no longer has means to recover it, and the day after the critical date it will be released for registration to other applicants.

    In general, our company issues invoices in advance in order to pay fees on time. If the invoice is not paid by the due date, we cannot guarantee the preservation of ownership.
